Timeless Twang

Silvertone introduced one of the earliest solid body guitars in the fall of 1954. That early model evolved into the 1303 in 1958. The Reissue 1303/U2 has all the vibe and twang of the original with some significant upgrades.

This light and resonant guitar has excellent natural projection and sustain. A pair of vintage-voiced lipstick pickups capture this mahogany tone and add that infamous sparkle and spank.

The pickups are wound to original specs and provide a truly vintage tone, while the output is powerful and dynamic enough to handle everything from mellow blues, warm jazz, crankin’ country, anthemic rock, and just about anything else where stellar vintage guitar tones are the need. One of the benefits of modern day production techniques is consistency and precision, something sorely missing in the 1950’s originals, particularly in the area of neck shape and fret quality. Not so on this Silvertone reissue. The mahogany neck as a perfectly comfortable modern C profile and a rosewood fretboard with 21 nickel frets and a 12″ radius for a superbly fast and accurate playing experience.

Additional modern upgrades include a fully adjustable bridge for accurate intonation and a string-through-body design for excellent vibrational transfer and sustain.
